UK car and bike retailer Halfords is gearing up to revamp their Carrera premium range for 2011.

While details of the new bikes are being kept under wraps for the time being, Halfords did confirm to BikeRadar that they're hiring designer Justin Stevenson to oversee the revamp. Stevenson will bring a huge amount of experience to the role, having spent the last two years at Whyte Bikes and before that a total of 15 years with Raleigh, Dawes and Saracen.

Halfords are also reporting a strong take up of the recently launched mobile version of Halfords.com. With smart phone use on the rise, Halfords developed a platform specifically for mobile users, and so far nearly 10 percent of their visitors are using it. It features a full product browse and search, product information, reviews, comparisons and the ability to order online for later collection at a store.
