It was only a matter of time before Kyklos, the Italian cycling brand owned by pro road racer Danilo Di Luca, produced a bike bearing its master's own moniker, and that's exactly what we have here.

The Killer – Danilo is known as 'The Killer from Spoltore' (his home town) – is a special limited edition version of Kyklos's Featherweight Plus road frame. It comes in a choice of two paint jobs (the white shown here, plus a matt black with gloss black decals), both of which are Di Luca's own designs.

But it's the unusually shaped seatstays that caught our attention. UK importers Veroli tell us they're designed to create a super-stiff rear end, which should make the Killer a sprinter's dream, like the Featherweight Limited we tested last year.

The frame weighs a claimed 850g and has a BB30 bottom bracket. Unlike the rest of Kyklos's road bikes, the Killer doesn't use an integrated seatmast, which should widen its appeal. The frameset is available now for £3,199.99.

Full bikes can be built to buyers' own specifications, with the components added here (SRAM Red group, Smart ENVE 3.4 wheels) ramping the price up to superbike proportions. For more information, contact Veroli.

If you live in the UK and want to check the Kyklos bikes out for yourself, they have a stand at the London Bike Show, which opens today and runs until Sunday, 15 January at the ExCel centre. You can buy discounted tickets by entering the code 'radar' at checkout. Entry with the code costs £15 compared to an on-the-door price of £20.
