A new 29er wheelset from Fulcrum has emerged in a picture released by the Merida Multivan team.
We attended the Merida team launch earlier this year in Menorca where we learned that these new team issue race wheels are believed to be handbuilt carbon tubular or tubeless clincher rims spinning on Cult ceramic bearings. They're also claimed to weigh 1,100g - that's more than 300g lighter than Mavic's Crossmax Ultimates. We don't expect these ultralight wheels to end up in stores this year but they're certainly an indicator of things to come.
