Altura Synchro jersey review
With a full-length zip garaged at both ends to avoid snags and a long dropped tail, Altura’s new Synchro is a cut above the traditional cycling jersey.
The slick Lycra lacks the immediate snuggle factor of softer fabrics, but it’s cosy enough once buried beneath a jacket.
While it doesn’t trap as much air as fleecier jerseys, it wicks very well, shifting unpleasant amounts of sweat without difficulty and drying in double-quick time after rain showers. The tightly woven face of the fabric is surprisingly good at keeping out chills.
It’s by no means a windproof and is labelled as a mid-layer, but if you’re working hard in reasonable conditions you’ll find that you’ll be snug enough with this top and a base layer beneath, saving the shell layer for really vile weather days.
The reflective print only appears on the left shoulder – we’d rather see it on both sides for full 360-degree visibility.
