Summer race performance and simple styling at a reasonable price

Bellwether is a brand that brings high performance features to enthusiast price points. BikeRadar recently tested the Helius jersey and found it to be an impressively cool piece of gear.

The Helius is designed for hot summer days and is constructed with ‘Çooltemp’ material, which is designed to lower skin temperature and keep you cool. Panels of mesh are used in areas of low stress and where ventilation is crucial: under the armpits and on the hips where the jersey overlaps with bibs. A full-length zipper is fitted in case it’s scorching hot.

Riding this jersey in the middle of a hot sunny day, we were left dry and comfortable thanks to the superior ventilation. At first, the Cooltemp material was noticeable, but quickly warms up against the skin and then feels like a normal jersey.

The jersey features the standard three rear pockets with a fourth zippered pocket in the centre for a phone or money. This fourth pocket features a waterproof lining on the inside to protect your contents from sweat damage.

The performance-orientated snug fit featured form fitting bands on the biceps and rubber grippers at the bottom of the jersey to ensure the Helius didn’t flap in the wind.

Simple subdued styling, comfortably snug fit and super heat management – we quite like the Helius.
