A minor niggle can’t undermine a great looking and performing jersey

It’s not often that you find a perfect melding of fashion with function, yet pretty much everything that Brighton-based Morvelo do is a masterclass in both. The Stripes jersey is one of their limited edition designs that riffs on the world champion ‘rainbow’ stripes, and it doesn't disappoint.

With a great slim fit cut for athletic bodies, it’s perfect for hard and fast riding, while the 100 percent polyester fabric wicks well and dries quickly. Bigger than average folks should size up though. Some nice aesthetic flourishes on the shoulder and collar won’t make you go faster but they’re emblematic of the attention to detail here.

Besides the normal three deep rear pockets for stuffing clothes, tools and food in, there’s also a small zipped rear pocket for essentials like keys and change. There’s also a subtle reflective panel to add a smidge of nighttime visibility.

Our only gripe is that the 3/4-length zip’s fob is very small and not the easiest to grab with gloves on. Aside from that, the top is packed with lashings of good features and a hefty dollop of unique style. It’s a fair price, too. What’s not to like?
