A worthy contender if you're after a slimmer-fitting jersey – a slight tendency to ride up is its only real issue

If you’re into pounding the cross-country miles and prefer your jerseys to be a bit less freeride and flappy and more about fit and function, Scott's Classic 10 is well worth a look.

The polyester material is comfy next to the skin and wicks sweat well when you start working harder. It dries quickly too without getting stinky, meaning it’ll last a ride or two before needing a wash.

Get too hot and the short zipper at the front helps you dump heat quickly. The three rear pockets are handy for stashing lighter items in if you’re not wearing a pack too, but we’d like to see at least one zipped pocket for stashing a phone, keys or cash.

Although the elasticated waist helps with the tailored, comfortable fit, we found that it would tend to ride up if we didn’t have anything in the rear pockets.
