Quality riding top – as long as the cut fits you

Endura’s Hummvee is a well thought out cross-country/trail jersey designed to go with the popular shorts of the same name.

It’s worth trying before you buy because we found that the Raglan sleeves on our medium sized test sample bunched up over our shoulders, spoiling the lines of the jersey.

That aside, the black and grey colour scheme with contrast mesh panels is stealthy but sporty, and reflective zips and Endura logos on front and back ensure you’ll be seen at night.

There are four pockets on the back – two small ones at the sides that are big enough for a phone or small wallet, one double sized one in the middle and a zip one with cable routing for an mp3 player.

The half-length zip helps with temperature regulation but, as with Endura's BaaBaa Merino Tech jersey, can be uncomfortable when fully zipped up – even more so in this case because the material isn’t as soft. And if you carry anything in the pockets, the back of the jersey sags, pulling the front up against your neck.

There are silicone backpack grippers on the shoulders, although these made no perceptible difference, perhaps because of the bunching of the material, and an internal microfibre glasses wipe.

The Hummvee is available in five sizes and three colours (black, red or white). If the cut of the shoulders and neck suit you, it’s a great riding top.
