A great , if costly, way for riders to lay down the race day power

Adidas is famed for its attention to design quality and construction, and the Adistar XC - an updated and improved version of the high-performance World Cup-winning race shoes - doesn’t let the side down. Every stitch on our pair was tight and every glue seam solid.

Choose red or black, slip them on and you’re immediately aware that they’re built to transfer power to the bike.

The full-length carbon midsole is as stiff as they come and the outsole is pleasantly grippy.

They're not cheap though. The material tab which the ratchet strap attaches to is short, so if you’ve got a high instep you’ll be right on the end of the ratchet, which can be uncomfortable.

Super stiff, reliable race shoes that will best suit riders with got low-profile feet.
