Our review
Rugged, comfortable shoe for riding – and walking – all the trails.

The Northwave Missions are perfect for bike and hike situations. The slightly flexible sole loses power on the pedals, but if you want versatile shoes for walking and riding, these are a winner.

These all-round freeride/trail shoes come with rugged outsoles, along with plenty of padding and protection.

Unlike Scott's or Shimano's trail shoes, for example, these don’t have a high ankle section, despite weighing 1008g. But what you do get is a Vibram rubber outsole that makes them a great gripper off the bike, especially on tough terrain.

These are some of the easiest shoes to walk in, but you can feel them flex on the pedals and power is lost as a consequence.

A Velcro strap keeps them lashed in place and protects your laces, too.

If you know you’ll have plenty of walking to do as well as pedalling, then the Missions are a very good bet.
