Our review
Excellent quality but an annoying zip/hem

The Club Convertibles are made from a breathable and ‘weatherproof’ fabric, have taped seams, and provide great protection against wet weather.

They have a fitted, ‘civvies’ style, with a zip and popper opening and two zipped hand pockets. Velcro tabs keep them out of your chain, and you can zip off the bottoms to convert them into 3/4-length shorts.

They fit well around the waist and crotch, but the hem of the three-quarter – with the zip, layers of fabric covering it, plus reflective strip – is stiff and rubs on your calf, whether you’re wearing them long or short.

The side zip on the bottom section means you can pull them on without removing your shoes, but that 3/4 zip/thick seam makes it a bit of a squeeze if you’re wearing anything chunkier than cycling shoes. They’re also quite heavy for stuffing in a pannier in case it rains, adding around 500g to your load.
