Our review
Bit chilly, but light, well sealed and a good pedal/walk balance for year-round trail use

Pearl’s good-looking trail boot has proved a lot tougher and more weatherproof than most of its competitors over the past year.

The mesh and synthetic leather upper isn’t insulated so you’ll need thick socks in winter, but it won’t boil you in summer.

The high top and complete Gore-Tex liner still keeps this boot noticeably drier than shoes when you’re paddling through puddles. There’s even an optional gaiter to wrap round the top to keep out splash, grit and snow.

The wrap-over strap, external web and plate-reinforced sole keeps it firm enough for powering up climbs, but sole traction and flexibility is okay for unrideable crags. They’re light and well priced for a Gore boot too.
