Although the MT31s are Shimano’s entry-level leisure shoes, they’re not short of features. There are small reflective dots at the front and rear, a bungee for keeping laces under control and even a glow-in-the-dark tab at the front.
The sole has deep lugs for good grip, with a reinforced, double stitched toe bumper. Synthetic leather gives it durability on the sides while padded nylon mesh, in an appealing blue sheen, keeps it light and breathable. The cut is really good – it’s padded enough for comfort but trim enough for a close fit. The cleat isn’t as deep as some, so the outer lugs are raised to add extra clearance. Overall construction is really good, especially given its reasonable price tag.
