Several design evolutions have created Shimano’s best winter boot yet. The roomy fit round the toe allows good circulation, even for broad feet.
A neoprene rear collar and tongue under the splash flaps keep the Gore-Tex waterproof liner well sealed. Meanwhile, an insulated liner gives warmth even when wet and three Velcro straps provide a secure but comfortable fit.
The open but relatively flat-based sole is grippy on wet rocks and roots, and it’s easy to clip into muddy SPDs. It’s also stiff enough for firm pedalling. There are no studs for enhancing toe grip, though, and pricing is high.
