Medium grip levels make these great for dirt jumpers, but only when it’s dry

The Whip 2 uses Vans’ new-school take on their old-school ‘waffle’ sole. The tread pattern and medium compound give reasonable grip levels in the dry.

The soft upper is flexible and mated to a medium density mid-sole. This gives a fairly stiff platform to pedal on, and protect your feet from harsh landings.

Extra protection is added by the Impact Sorb heel if you stomp your foot. The stiff mid-sole and medium density sole compound become skittish on the pedals when wet.
