Expensive but more than up to the job

You may not have heard of Italy's Bicycle Line, but the long-sleeve Skin is one of the comfiest and best fitting base layers we've tried.

It's extremely tight fitting, bordering on compression wear, with just two sizes available – XS/S/M and L/XL/XXL – to cover a range of builds. Despite this limited sizing, the fit is top notch and unrestrictive thanks to the super-stretchy fabric.

The polyester/elastane/carbon blend does a terrific job of transferring sweat away from the skin – just make sure you're wearing a breathable outer layer or there'll be nowhere for it to go.

The Skin also works well worn on its own under a windproof gilet, providing conditions are calm and dry. Bicycle Line don't have a UK or US distributor but they have stockists in Ireland (CycleSuperStore) and Canada (Arg Sports), both of whom ship worldwide.
