There’s no way you’d miss this jersey on the roads, and since the designer – ex-pro cyclist Iris Slappendel – only makes limited runs of 100 items, the chances are you won’t see anyone else with this jersey either!
The ‘All Eyes On Me’ jersey is bright red with a repeated eye print, which is both a play on the designer's name and the brand. I love a good pun, so this tickled me, plus it looks really good.
The jersey is very well constructed with a snug race fit that sits nicely on the body without feeling restrictive. I tested an XL which corresponds to a UK16 or US12, and I’m curvy in the boob department which often means jerseys can pull and distort across the chest area, but this jersey held up well. There was enough stretch to handle the fit without the print going too pale or see-through. Less busty riders won’t have a problem with this at all, though.
IRIS kit seems to be cut to suit taller riders. At 5ft8in / 1m 73cm, the jersey sat nice and low over my hips and I didn’t have any unwelcome tummy-flashing incidents when riding or standing.
The full-length zip sits flush to the body, even over the curves, and didn’t wrinkle or pull.
Three rear pockets provide plenty of space to stash essentials, plus that all-important valuables pocket with a zip closure. A silicone gripper on the rear hem helps keep the jersey down, and the pockets in place even when full.
A lighter, mesh-like fabric is used on the under arms and back to increase breathability, while a fine, stretchy, but supportive Lycra that holds its shape well is used on the rest of the arms and torso. Together, this makes this jersey an excellent choice for hot weather riding because it wicks sweat away efficiently.
